On the one hand, Quincy Market is perhaps the most “touristy” spot in Boston. It’s a big building full of food stands and stalls selling souvenirs. There’s preciously little history in the building itself; it’s a place to buy a lobster roll and a hat that says “Wicked Smaaht”.
On the other hand, Quincy Market is a big, beautiful building made of stone and brick that opened in 1826 and has served food to Bostonians continually for the past two centuries. It’s at true historical landmark, and it’s free to enter and walk around and grab a bite. Why not stop by, especially for lunch, grab a bite, and marvel that this place is still standing and doing what it’s always done?
Plus, there are bathrooms downstairs.
